My husband has recently had back surgery? Can we get disability for his time off from work?
He had back surgery and will be out of work for a total of 6 weeks. Would he be able to somehow recoup his pay? How could we do this? Thanks in advance.

Depends on where you live.
In the US a six week disability is either covered by his company’s policy, or your own personal disability policy (that you buy and pay for). You cannot qualify for social security disability insurance unless you are disabled and off work for more than 6 months. Sorry.
Other countries, I have no idea.
If his injury was work related, then he can get Workman’s comp from his employer. If however, it is not a work related injury, then unfortunately, he won’t be able to collect anything.
Check your insurance policies, some may have coverage for this type of situation.
In order to qualify for any type of Social Security Disability or Social Security Supplemental Income, one must be out of work at least one year.
Good luck and hope things work out.
In at least some U.S. states, you can file for temporary disability with the state’s unemployment division.
